When I bought my home the previous own left about 200 industrial drainage tiles with blue ceramic tops (various rectangle sizes). I am currently landscaping my property using all of the stones from an old barn, bricks from a chimney taken down and old barn wood to make raised garden beds.
Does anyone have ideas of how to use the drainage tiles to add to my landscaping?
We have some old clay pipes and drainage tiles also. We use the 12" long drain tiles set on end as stands for container planters. I'm thinking of taking the drain pipes which are about 3-4 feet long and placing three of them together at different heights in the ground with the bell ends up, and planting things in them. You might use them as corner accents for the raised beds. Stand them on end, fill them with potting soil and plant something you like in them.

I want to line my garden with some nice, flat red rocks, sort of like what you would find on the flatirons in Boulder. However, when I go to home depot, they are $5/ piece. I'm hoping to line the garden for less than $25, any ideas?
Thanks for the suggestions, especially since yes, there are a lot of rocks in the Rocky Mountains? Any park names or areas by the side of the road where I can go exploring? Thank you all for the ideas.
Jeez, they're not called the Rocky Mountains for nothing, if you need help finding some, get in touch, I've got Park Ranger friend in Estes Park. RScott

I'm trying to find a sprinkler head (similar to an irrigation sprinkler head) that I can attach to a water hose. I looked at our landscaping at work today and they have several garden hoses with sprinkler heads attached in the middle. It looks like they have several small water hoses that are hooked together with these sprinkler heads. I couldn't see the company name on the sprinkler head but it's a pretty heavy duty sprinkler head. I'm looking for something like this for our landscaping here at home. Any ideas?
I would ask your facilities manager for info on the ones you see at work.
Otherwise, call a local irrigation company. They should be willing to sell what you are looking for, or rig something up for you.
I can't come out today.. I have stuff to do.. I will get on it later, I am looking for suggestions.. I have lots of ideas of my own, lets pick your brains now.

Homeowner Andy McKinnon couldn’t be happier. “I enjoy cocktails on the porch with neighbors, and people are always stopping to ask about the mondo grass.” Occasionally Andy pulls a weed or two, and that’s about it. To keep even that in check, each February and May the yard is treated with a pre-emergence herbicide.
Residential garden design – landscaping ideas water features ...

Landscape design is the conscious arrangement of outdoor space for human enjoyment and satisfaction. Streams and waterfalls bring the beauty of water into a landscape. Small water features should also be located where they can be best enjoyed. Patios, seating areas, entry spaces, courtyards, and interior window views are good locations. H2O landscaping Designs has designed H2Owise as an environmentally sustainable water feature. H2O Designs is environmentally friendly, helps in water conservation, conforms to water restriction regulations, provides for using of rain water, decreased water evaporation and requires minimum maintenance.
