I don't have much of a green thumb. My contractor will add mulch and a few basic green bushes. How can I beautify the landscaping. The home will be complete in 4-8 weeks, but I can plant before then. I love perenials, but what else? I can do potted plants, but the in the ground things always seem to die.
Ideas?
Your best best is to go to the nearest garden center and see what is available in your area. If you live in a cold climate then wait on the potted plants.

Hi, there's a lot of interactive programs you can download for free. If you search online, look for one called realtime landscaping. You download it, you can even take a picture of your own house and pick your plants, trees etc. Some will even let you "walk through the yard" and "see" what it looks like.
walmart has bags of 2 cu mulch. I am just trying to figure our how many bags I should buy. I don't feel like paying shipping costs for a mulch company.

Last year I tried out the HGTV Home & Landscape Platinum Suite and it’s super handy if you’re designing a home and even handier if you’re designing landscaping. In fact, I liked the landscaping part of the program better than the architect features (and I’m an architect freak). In any case, I thought I’d mention this software because if you’re planning a large or new landscaping project, this software could really help you out.
