I have a very successful Lawn and Landscape company and I would like to start selling franchises.
I know how a franchise works, I just need to know who to contact and how to go about offering my business as a franchise opportunity.
You may want to approach some Franchise Agents to do this. They will look out for potential franchisees for you, or promote your fanchise. They usually take up a commission after a successful transaction, and the rate of it would depend on the sales price sometimes, or pre-agreed.
As franchise businesses allows owner to kick-start a business immediately without much research, you should ensure that
you can provide franchisees, with a proper system of running the business. Things like operations manual, from *accounting to sales and even day-to-day recommended scope of work. You also have to work on problem management system for them, and even some ready client base for them to kick-start.
It's important to start considering how far you want to make available your franchise to interested parties. For instance, just in the States, or the region you come from, or international? Be clear with your knowledge of Geography. I have seen franchises in the States thinking that Singapore is part of China. With that kind of knowledge and perspective, you can even work out a delegation system, like, selling master franchises to regions, and let them promote your business to their own region.
Work out on a rough budget you would think those keen people would need to start this business, factoring in the good-will of your current business.
*Accounting is important, as you have get them to submit their sales, with some proper guidelines, and usually, you would get a certain agreed percentage of royalty fees based on a regular period. So, you might need to keep track of their sales and business. To handle all these, you might need to employ someone who would handle it for full-time.

I'm looking to own my own small business. I'm currently looking into all of the different variables that come with enterprenuership, but I'm trying to decide which would be the most profitable in todays's Economy? Which of these would be the best option for a first time small business owner? Keep in mind that I have two kids to support.
A small franchised heatlh club (like a 24hour fitness place)?
A service business like gutter cleaning and/or landscaping?
Or a restaurant?

The movies after the original literally sucked. As for the games, after RE3, the scare factor lost its appeal. First RE film was so scary and atmospheric. Then the 2nd and 3rd films just exploded into action and mutant creatures killing everything. Resident Evil 4, although fun, ceases to pose any sense of dread on its players. All you gotta do is have fast reflexes and big guns. It gets boring after a while, since the atmosphere and story are gone. Now RE5 for the PS3 takes place in a sunny African village. Before that it was a Spanish town. Don't they understand the fact that zombies aren't supposed to TALK? And what's the deal with zombies wielding weapons like knives, etc. In my opinion this breaks down the 'reality' of the zombie universe. It makes them more human and less bizarre, which takes away from the oddness that contributed to their scariness in the first place. Large sunny landscapes? Come on, it's so bright you can see clearly what's coming towards you!

In a few hours ping pong balls will decide the fate of several NBA franchises. It's funny how something so tiny can make such a HUGE impact on an entire sport. Just think how different the landscape of the NBA would be right now if 10 years ago the ping pong balls had bounced with the odds and awarded the Celtics the top pick and Tim Duncan. The Lakers/Celtics rivalry would have now included some fierce NBA Finals showdowns between Shaq & Kobe's Lakers vs Duncan & Pierce's Celtics. San Antonio would probably still be looking for David Robinson's replacement instead of on the verge of winning their 4th title in 9 years and enjoying the best overall record of any team in professional sports over the past 10 years.
That's the kind of impact one player can have on a franchise. The past 26 of 27 championships have been won by a superstar. Dr. J, Magic, Bird, Jordan, Isiah, Dream, Shaq, Duncan...Oden & Durant? The Cavs will win titles with James. Which two teams will soon join the list?
Oden and Durant will not be the difference makers you expect.
Oden has no legs, and Durant's body can't support the extra 30 lbs he needs.
This is what I think they own:
1. Landscaping companies.
2. Pie in the sky businesses that promote a product that doesn't exist or a skill no one will dare trust or pay them for.
3. A franchise started with daddy's money that they are realizing is a financial nightmare.
4. Some computer repair business that has been obliterated by Geek Squad.
I looked on Facebook and saw a classmate of mine worked for a law office. He recently graduated. Then I looked closer and realized the name was his last name and his girlfriend's last name. I would never hire that dude to be my lawyer, and I doubt anyone else would.
You own a business? What a joke. So do I. I sell London Bridge. What do you do?
I don't own one, Never have, never want to. There is way too much work involved with it and I for one like MY time to do what I want. SO I put in my hours at my job and live a good life. I don't begrudge those that do put in those excessive hours and stressful days the pay that they deserve, because although I am unwilling to do it, I understand what it takes.
