I have owned and operated a landscaping company for the past 10 years. I have been maintaining residential properties and I am interested in expanding to commercial maintenance and landscaping installation. I have insurance and the equipment to handle the jobs, but have no idea where to look for them. Is there a website or something that would tell me what jobs are coming up for bid so that I might be able to prepare something? Thanks for your help.

The problem we have is that the Lantana's are 3 years old and have grown "leggy" and have taken over the planting beds. We know that we have to replace them but our problem is picking out a plant that is as colorful and has a long bloom period. We do not want annuals that require re-planting every year.
My hibiscus bloom almost all year, as do pentas.

My husband and I bought our place last yr, and we are still trying to figure what to do in our frontyard. Here is a link with a pic of our place: http://bluemoon576.myphotoalbum.com/albu ms.php
We live in central FL. My front porch is small as you can see, which I want to keep it this way (we don't use it much except for going in and out). There's this area on the right side that I don't know what to do. We wanted to plant a tree there because in the afternoon is really hot with the sunset (what trees are really good for shading and/or blocking the sun?). We also thought about putting some patio stones, maybe some little bushes and a small fountain? Can you help us figure out what to do? We don't want to spend too much money and not TOO much decoration or details, just a little bit to give that nice touch to the house. Thanks a lot!
Fruitless plum trees are very pretty and grow fairly fast (they are a purple-red color)...small bushes would be boxwoods....they come in green or variegated colors, Daylilly's and Lily of the Nile flower and give nice color. A pondless waterfall would really spruce things up and give a wonderful sound to greet your guests as they approach your door.

I would suggest hiring a Landscape Architect to help you deal with the drainage problems. Unfortunately, many 'home builders' built on swampland which has no drainage.
A Landscape Architect knows grades and codes when dealing with these kinds of problems. An LA would be able to tell you IF your drainage problem can be fixed, and can get it done. It probably won't be an easy fix, if it can be fixed at all. By hiring an LA, the LA is then responsible if the diverted water impacts another person's property, which saves you from being sued.
Also, a Landscape Engineer is even more qualified than an LA. The bad part is that either of these solutions will be EXPENSIVE. There is no way around it.
