I started a landscaping business this summer, as it was a good fit being that I'm a college student, and I earned a decent profit. It's getting towards the end of landscaping season, and I'm having a tough time finding employment around my school schedule. Does anyone have any good business ideas on how to sustain myself until next spring?
If you can get an arborist license that is a natural extension of a landscape business. I prefer doing tree work in the winter. The leaves are gone so there is less to haul away. Falling trees and limbs do less lawn damage when the ground is frozen, even less when it is covered with snow.
I live in the Jasper area, and I am looking for odd jobs to make extra money. I am a jane-of-all-trades. I landscape, sew, paint, needlework, make crafts, and I am a mom of two great kids. If it is not on my list, ask me and I will let you know if I can. I will try anything once. I learn fast, just give me a chance.

I've been self-employed as a landscaper/gardener for ten years. I have an associate's degree in horticulture and some additional training in Microsoft Stystems Admin. and a bit of excel training. Problem is: I'm too old to continue physically doing landscaping. I want to get an office job with benefits, but feel all the admin. asst and office mgr. positions i'm seeing require proficiency in EVERYTHING. Don't know if I can afford to work for less than $12.00/hr. I know I'm smart and a fast learner. I've got lots of customer experience, some selling, bookeeping and good quality of work behind me. Any suggestions for breaking out? Maybe I'm not seeing something I should. Thanks.
