A do it yourself landscape in Vancouver Washington. Designed and consulted by Outman's landscape Design and Consulting.
I'm looking for some things I can print out...a do-it-yourself landscaping where they draw pictures and label what plants to put where. I'm not good with landscaping and this would help-I've seen it before but just have no idea where to look for it. Thanks!
www.MyGardenPlans.com. This is a new gardening website that will allow people to find, create, and share garden plans online...kind of like YouTube for gardeners. Things are just getting started so there isn't much content yet, but in a couple weeks people will be able to add pictures of their own yards with accompanying plant lists, etc.
Last year I designed my own landscape and was disappointed with the lack of good content on the internet. I wanted something that showed real examples...i.e. garden plans of existing gardens. Seeing a need for this, I've begun creating a website to do just that. As an avid gardener and experienced Java developer, I believe that this website will have easy-to-use tools for do-it-yourself and professional landscapers. Enjoy! (Check back in a few months and you'll see a lot of improvements.)
im 20 and would like some advice like..decorating tips, do it yourself & landscaping... i want to start flipping homes but would like to start in my parents house... so... best magazine or book to help me do this? thanks for the answers.

how could one build their own house in the united states? has anyone done this? how did you do it?
what problems did you encounter while doing this?
I am not talking about hiring a contractor to build you a house or hiring sub contractors to all the work. but i am talking about doing everything yourself (the excavation, landscaping, the framing, plumbing, wiring and electrical work, roofing, flooring, installing drywall and painting it, installing shingles on the exterior, and installing fixtures and appliances inside the house).
There is an old saying "If it was easy, everybody would be doing it"
Sure you can try but construction isnt easy, you have to pull permits and get inspections and if you were to do something incorrect the inspector might have you pull it all out. Licensed contractors know codes, and take the responsibility.
Im not saying that you have to hire a contractor to do the entire job but if you dont any experience in construction you may need some consulting.
planning to place a 10' x 10' put together yourself store house on a surface that's quite uneven and it's mostly dirt... what's the most effective or easiest way to level the ground or is there an alternative method?
Knock off the high spots with a shovel and fill in the low spots with the dirt. Or you can get some gravel and place it there to level the ground and provide drainage. You didn't say what the floor was made of. If it's plastic or metal, use the gravel. If it's wood, you would be best to keep it off the ground with some concrete blocks or pre-cast piers that are available at home centers just for that purpose.
