I have a garden swing seat that needs a new canopy ,I have tried everywhere with no success ...please does anyone know where I can buy one ?
You probably need a custom job. You can try contacting an awning company under "canvas" or "awnings" in your local yellow pages.

Do you mean as a decorative feature? If so, you can sustain a swinging motion with very little energy output if you can properly time the application of the swinging force, as it is a "resonant" structure (all bets are off in a windstorm, however).
There are small models that use this kind of sustained swinging that use magnetic sensors (probably "Hall Effect" devices) that trigger electromagnets to drive a magnetic pendulum. It takes very little electricity to keep those running because the power is only turned on briefly to add a little energy to the swing on each pass. Since the timing is driven by the swinging motion, the "pendulum" is free to move at its natural period, and it can even compensate for some degree of outside interference.

The metal posts on my garden swing are starting to rust. How do I restore it. Was thinking of using a sander to scrape the rust. then maybe put a coat of paint but what sort of paint to use? Is this the right way to do it. Any advice please. Cheers
sanding will make the pipe even thinner (and weaker). Knock of excessive rust with a wire brush. Use rust remover, wipe it down, spray a good rust preventive primer on and paint.

I have looked at Lowes, Home Depot, Garden stores and I still can't find replacements seat and canaopy cushions for my outdoor garden swing do they even sell replacements?
Yes, I live in the midwest & I see them all the time at Walmart, Lowe's, Target. You might look online & have them shipped to you.
My garden seat has now got huge patches on the material where people have sat. I'm looking for a cheap way to repair it as it is so comfortable. The material has 2 loops for the top and bottom planks to thread through. Any ideas?
This is a DIY. Take the old one apart carefully and use the pieces for your pattern. Go to a fabric store and buy new foam. They will cut it to size. While there, get the necessary yardage of outside fabric.
Using the old pieces, cut new ones (allow for seams) and sew together. Leave one end open to slide the foam in. Sew up the opening.

Yesterday afternoon we had spent sometime roving around looking for garden seats coz we wanted to put some in our front yard. We have some mango, jackfruit, lychee trees in our front yard and they provide real nice shade so we want to put some seats and table so we could have some place to sit and have barbeque or enjoy the breeze.
There are lots of garden sets being sold around Phnom Penh and we particularly like the ones made of cement with a nice tile-like finishing. It’s not expensive too so we plan to get several sets. While we were checking the sets out, we also saw some swing sets made of stainless steel. Our daughter is now bugging us to purchase one for her. It’s actually nice and roomy and some designs could accommodate as much as four people. Hmm, we’ll probably give in to her request as it wouldn’t be a bad addition to the yard.

A few of you have been asking for an updated photo of the garden - well here it is. We’re in full swing here at mtp. The Peas have come and gone, we’re one row of potatoes down and currently munching through our 50th lettuce (or thereabouts). Everything is going really well with the new design. I have more than enough room to grow everything I want to - maybe just a smidgeon more lettuce? No?
Things that have gone well: Runner Beans looking fab on old-fashioned bean-poles, Sweetpeas that smell gorgeous, the biggest Strawberries in-the-world, Tomato jungle, Mange Tout for the first time, the promise of some corking Sweetcorn and 8 Queen Cox apples (still) on the apple tree!
Things that have gone ‘um’ not so well: Peas taking over the garden, ants eating the Pear buds (if I ‘ever’ find out where they live…), no Redcurrants ( I know not why), some onions going to seed, the usual Cauliflower debacle.Â
