I've been given a lovely garden statue but it looks very white against the other ornaments I have in my garden. How can I make it look older? Thanks
sounds mad but rub it with natural live yoghurt. the bacteria will age it and encourage mould growth.

It's my mum's 60th birthday and she has said she wants a garden statue of "the 3 graces" in grey stone/concrete from her three daughters as a special pressie. Others friends and family have agreed to club in so we can get her exactly what she wants (within reason). I can find the 3ft (31inch) model in garden centres in the UK but nothing bigger! In despair I am opening this one up, please help me to make my mum's 60th one she will never forget. She has seen it in this country and also in Spain, but where? I am willing to travel, hire a van to move it if need be, I just need to locate one. Thanks in advance.
Try e bay, they have everything .

I'm looking for a garden (outdoor) Buddha statue. Material can be stone, concrete, or any variety of composite that will withstand the outdoors. Most vendors I have found cater to the trendy set. This is for a Theravada Buddhist non profit and we cant afford to pay a lot of money. The size we are looking for is at least 36 inches. Thanks
How inexpensive is inexpensive. I've searched many sites and almost all 36" Buddhas are in the low $200's. If you live anywhere close to the Mexican border, you can pick up plaster Buddhas for a lot less than that. Good Luck, Namaste.

what are the differences in longevity?
I am not sure if the actual bath part is plaster or concrete, but it is really heavy.
the statue on top is hollow and quite intricately carved.
both are very smooth,
but the bowl is again very heavy and hard. so what could it be for anyone who could guess?
Thanks for your answers!
Plaster ones tend to crack with age, as they get water into the structure. I have a Gargoyle, and the only way to protect it is to paint it with Varnish or Paint.
All the concrete ones I have last well, but are not as detailed.
I prefer the plastic ones I have for detail and age, but they are Plastic.
I am looking for either a red-eared slider or something that I can paint to resemble a red-eared slider turtle. It would need to be heavy and sturdy enough to leave in the yard. Any ideas where I can buy such a statue?
ebay. Check ebay. They have them. All kinds. You probably want to go with terracota clay (unpainted). Just check the seller's rating to make sure they are a good one. There is one seller in particular that might interest you. Go to ebay's searchbox and type in "old farts garden pottery" They dont have turtles this week, but they did last week and they will post them again, especially if you shoot them an email and tell them what you are looking for. They do great work and I have ordered many things from those old farts. They rotate their goods, so check next week if you dont want to email them. If you ask them, they will post the turtles.

Garden statue stolen (From Droitwich Advertiser)
A BRONZE statue of a heron has been stolen from a garden in Droitwich Spa.
The two-foot garden feature, worth around £375, was taken from the address in Lyttelton Road between 12noon on Saturday, July 25 and 12noon on Monday, August 10.
Community Support Officer, Keeley Hawkes, said: “The owner of this statue has been left very upset by its theft as it had sentimental value, being a birthday present for her late husband’s 70th birthday.
“We would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area between the times stated to get in touch but it is likely that this object will turn up for sale at a car boot sale or similar event or even be offered for sale to independent retailers.
“Anyone who comes across a statue matching its description should call police on 0300 333 3000, quoting 790/S/100809.”
