I noticed in the paper that Garden Ridge has microfiber sofas on sale and I would love to check them out. However, the closest store to me is over 2 hours away, and then comes the trouble of hauling a trailer in case of actually buying the furniture and then the traffic is unbelievable in that area.

So, my question is.....does anyone know if these sofas are worth the trouble or are they junk?

Garden Ridge is a reputible retailer, however their furniture has always been very low end and inexpensively made. I would look closer to home, even for a few bucks more, just incase you have a problem later...and with the cost of gas!

Similar questions have been asked a lot on this site but none really answered! I have been on two websites - www.slcd.co.uk and www.lillevilla.co.uk. They quote the planning permission regulations as "If you build a building under 4 metres in height which is over a metre away from your house and doesnt take up 50% of your land then you don't require planning permission." however, this site http://www.chiltern.gov.uk/downloads/odp m_breg_609257.pdf says that it is possible but with no sleeping accommodation. Just wondering as I would like to build a log cabin at the bottom of my garden for my son to live in. It would be 28m square. If he couldnt live in it, could he just use it during the day and have a sofa bed in there which he accidentally fell asleep on? Could it have electricity and water?
I live in the UK i take it zoning inspectors are for the US? Or is it a UK thing?

Yes. yes you can build this cabin and you can have electricity and water but legally it must be a shed, garage or working studio of sorts.
remember should you ever in the future have to apply for planning permission for an extension or should you come to a stage where your selling your house, its a glorified shed NOT a domestic dwelling. Domestic dwellings have all sorts of regs and requirements that i doubt you will want to get stuck into. good luck

we have had her for 7 weeks now and don't seem to be getting anywhere. all her poo's are either on paper or in the garden. she has even wee'd on the coffee table and the sofa.

You can sort this out quite quickly.
First, stop her from having free range of the house.
She should be restricted to one room when you are not there to supervise her -otherwise she'll get caught out needing to go toilet and then you end up with bad habits as you have found out.
Secondly, decide if you want her to go on paper or in the garden. Using both is confusing for her. I recommend ditching the paper training - it just messes puppies around.
Thirdly, start from scratch. The way to housetrain a puppy is to take them outside every 20 minutes, stay with the pup and wait, then reward her with a treat and lots of praise every time she goes wee/poo in the right place. As the days go by, and she makes the link between weeing outside and getting a treat, she will want to go out. Obviously, the key to success is that you need to be there to reward her and take her out. That is why puppies need to be supervised constantly until they are reliable in the house.

If you can't supervise her all the time for a few weeks until you have this cracked, try using a crate when you leave her. Dogs naturally do not soil their beds so restricting her to her bed in a crate means she learns to hold her wee until you can let her out. It teaches her self control and means she cant go inthe wrong place.

Can anybody help me find a sofa that I can sit on both sides of, please? The idea is to be able to watch TV on 1 side and look at the garden on the other side. I can;t find any and I don't feel like buying 2 sofas back to back. Any help greatly appreciated! THANKS!

Well, Neiman Marcus DOES carry them, but I don't think you want to pay that $3,259 sticker price!!
