Myself and 3 other friends (3 guys in mid 20's from Michigan, USA) are going to be staying in covent garden london from 2/23-2/26... what are the best pubs to goto during the day? and the best clubs/bars at night...the crazier the better, and the more people to party with.
Covent Garden is central, but to be honest, a bit touristy for going out. For pubs during the day, try a nice suburb, Hamstead, Highgate or Clapham.
For clubs at night, you should try Shoreditch and Old Street, the clubs and bars are much cooler. Look at timeout.com for some listings.

Does anyone know if the Gardening Club in Covent Garden is a good place for a birthday party on the weekend?
I want it to be not too expensive, with a decent sized area I can reserve, and hopefully not quite as horribly packed as most clubs are on Saturday nights in central London!!
i went there a few years ago & found it a bit pricey on the drinks front. Also it was very packed as it was a saturday night. There were quite a few dif rooms kind of like a labryinth with loads of passageways connecting them but none of these rooms were very big & it would be easy 2 loose ur friends.I hope this helps u.Have a good birthday.

My friend and I accidentally stumbled into it during the day last year on a vsit to London and it looked great (it was empty at the time) so we'd like to check it out when we go back. :)
Thanks guys :)

Covent Garden and the first Twitter opera | Culture Club | STLtoday
Twitterverse to create the storyline for a brand new opera, which will be performed throughout the weekend of Deloitte Ignite (4, 5, 6 September 2009). We’re investigating how short, 140-character contributions can build upon each other to create a non-linear narrative – like a Choose Your Own Adventure story or a game of Consequences. Our mysterious opera director will be regularly blogging here with updates on the story, and as well as offering his thoughts on how the story can combine with some music and acting and marvellous singing to become a finished piece.”
So far, the text seems fairly stream-of-semi-consciousness; you can check it out at http://royaloperahouse.wordpress.com/ . To take part in it, tweet your line of the story to @youropera or visit www.twitter.com/youropera . Take it away!
