Would anyone give me some information about this hotel??
Has anyone stayed at there??
City Garden Hotel is in Hong Kong Island side. I stayed there once. My room is well-facilitated ( In room broadband Internet access service)and with an excellent harbor view. The staff are very nice.
MTR station is nearby. You can take MTR to travel around Hong Kong and Kowloon.

Hi,
I love Italian food. I love going to Authentic Italian restaurants ,not Americanize
Italian Restaurants like:Olive Garden.
i'll be staying at city garden hotel in central. i just wanted to know where to go in mong kok, tsim sha tsui, and central(hong kong island). i will not go for branded stuff and those stuff that is available in shopping complexes. i wanted to see and explore the other side of hong kong...haha..thanks again!
My favorite place to go in Hong Kong is Causeway Bay. There are many cheap stores and street markets, and I'm sure you'll find something you like there. It is just one stop away from Mong Kok, and you can walk from the two cities easily. A great place to stop by is "Xu Liu Shan". It is a casual cafe that sells amazing fruit smoothies, mango drinks and other great snacks. I go every time I visit Hong Kong.
In Central, there is a subway line that goes to the Lantau Islands. I suggest going to see the Big Buddha at the Ngong Ping Plateau. From Central, the subway ride is about 40 minutes. To get to the Plateau, you can either take a bus or a cable car ride. The cable car ride is very scenic and it costs only about $11 USD. It lasts about 20 minutes and you get to see the Hong Kong bay and the mountains.
Stop by Ladies Market if you are going to Mong Kok. Although you said you aren't interested in brand name clothes, everything is CHEAP. You can get coworkers or relatives gifts, if you aren't shopping for yourself. And if you aren't interested in clothes at all, there is also a street selling electronic and entertainment goods. You can buy cheap DVDs, software, and mp3 systems for yourself or friends. Finally, there are streets selling little birds and exotic fish in Mong Kok. I don't remember the names of the streets, but they are both near the KCR train station. I love walking through there, because they sell pets that are so exotic and beautiful and you would never get to see them in America.
Hong Kong is a really great place to explore, so I hope you have fun!

Kansas City - Fat City - Breakfast Buffet: Monday, August 24
No, I'm not drinking java this morning as I temporarily fill in for new Dad Jonathan Bender: I'm sipping California-based Republic of Tea's answer to coffee -- or any morning beverage loaded with caffeine -- the herbal tea is called Get Charged , a proprietary blend of organic rooibos, hibiscus, gotu kola, stevia and ginseng -- and other herbs. The bright orange container boasts that drinkers (it's marketed at athletic types) can "get invigorated without feeling tweaked."
The blueberry flavored herbal tea does have a slight kick, but...excuse me while I go tweak the coffee maker...
The big culinary news in Kansas City today is the appearance of handsome, tattooed celebrity pastry chef Johnny Iuzzini -- the James Beard Award winner, author of the 2008 cookbook says:
Sorry Aaron, it did cross my mind this morning that you didn't mention Mrs. Deacon at that dim sum adventure and now I know why she wasn't there: you weren't either! I haven't eaten at Pine & Bamboo Garden in probably two decades (although I did work for the lovely Theresa Lim, a daughter of the P&B founders, at a non-Asian restaurant in the 1990s). That post -- from Geo! -- certainly made me want to go check out the dim sum.

Fallen cities, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
Cultural focus (i.e. is the book about westerners or Chinese) : Chinese -- the major characters in the Hong Kong stories are Chinese, but differences in these characters' subcultural/linguistic/national backgrounds are often catalysts for contrast and conflict.
Evocation of Hong Kong setting : Superb. The two Hong Kong stories in this collection are set on Hong Kong Island, which is described with well-chosen detail. For example, there's a description of a stylish 'modern' house on the Peak that's just brimming with juicy 1940s decoration:
This garden was like a a gold-lacquered serving tray lifted high amid the wild hills: one row of carefully pruned evergreens; two beds of fine, well-spaced English roses -- the whole arrangement severely perfect, not a hair out of place, as if the tray had been deftly adorned with a lavish painting in the fine-line style. In one corner of the lawn, a small azalea was in flower, its pink petals, touched with yellow, a bright shrimp-pink.
