I can only plant my vegetable garden near a black walnut tree. Something in the tree make-up prevents certain plants from growing. Which ones do better than others. Thank you
There is sun but the drip line of the tree is close to the garden.
I had the same problem that you did. To get around it, I looked in to "Square foot gardening". I built raised beds, with new their own soil / compost mixture, separate from the soil that the walnut trees grew in, and ended up with a fabulous garden.
Everyone told me it wouldn't work, being so close to the Walnut trees (about 40 ft) and it probably wouldn't have, if I hadn't built raised beds for the veggie garden.
You can get the book "Square Foot Gardening" by Mel Bartholomew at any library or bookstore, that will tell you a lot more about it.
Hope this helps, it worked for me! Good Luck!!
One of our neighbors has a black walnut tree in his yard. the nuts fall into our garden... the roots are likely traveling under it too. It seems that no matter how much I adjust the soil with compost and rotted manure nothing much wants to grow there. It is unfortunate as that is the best place in our yard for a garden. I think I may have to lay down a plastic sheet, build up a raised bed on top of it, and put a net overhead to block the falling nuts and roots of that black walnut tree. Any other suggestions?
Find another spot for your garden because nothing will grow near a black walnut tree, or at least, not do well.
I have a tree in my yard and anything within a radius of 30-40 feet is stunted by exposure. I can't wait to get rid of it. Unfortunately, we like the shade it provides and the trees we planted near it haven't matured yet. It's days are numbered.
Would your neighbor consider replacing it if you offered to buy him another tree? Just a thought.
Good luck.

when someone special summons the other player gets a rose token.
you can destroy the field card and all other plant monsters, then add up the attack of all the monsters destroyed, and special summon one monster from your graveyard with an attack equal to the number you added up., the other player doesnt get a rose token after you special summon that monster
My garden furniture was out all last summer in the rain. I tried some off the shelf products but they don't seem to work. The black discolouration is very bad.
Assuming it's wood, wet a small inconspicuous spot and apply a solution of 1cup of household bleach to a quart of water to see how strong a solution you need. Let it soak for at least 15 minutes and then scrub with dishwash liquid soap and water. Do this on a sunny day.

Garden Therapy: Hearty Plants For the Black of Thumb | gardening ...
If you're hopeless with plants, don't resort to plastic potted palms. Try succulents instead. These low-maintenance plants seem to flourish with a lack of attention. Forget to water them for a month? Don't worry, they'll survive. They're also easy to propagate. Instructables has an easy set of instructions on how to start new succulents from cuttings. Even the blackest of black thumb gardeners should be able to do it.
